Where leaders get started
Freshmen Council is a student organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and representing the freshman class at Iowa State University. We provide a foundation for growth and opportunity for students.
Freshmen Council, or FC, is composed of seven different sub-committees. At the beginning of fall and spring semester, any full-time student can apply for one of these sub-committees. At the end of the semester, members are given the opportunity to apply for executive board positions, which they then hold through the first semester of the next school year.
As a whole, Freshmen Council sponsors and organizes social events, educational forums, study groups, and multi-cultural events. FC is a great way to get involved, gain leadership skills, and meet new people!
Freshmen Council is funded in part by the Government of the Student Body at Iowa State University.
Freshmen Council meets weekly in the Memorial Union. Meetings begin Sundays at 7:00pm.
